first project

This is going to be your new favorite bar.

St. Gambrinus won't be open for a few more months, but it's going to be a fantastic addition to Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue, for neighborhood locals and for anyone who loves craft beers and a mellow atmosphere.

...And, as it turns out, it will have a small seating area in the back - which, as I'm usually a Grenache/Syrah sort of woman, is where my expertise comes in.

The question is, how to take this:

...and make it a comfortable seating area for 12 people to linger over their beers,

while polishing this up a bit:

...and hiding things like this:

... and keeping the whole thing separate from the neighboring tenants' private garden (while exploiting the lovely view it provides)?

...Oh!  And maybe, while we're at it, providing some pots or window boxes to spiff up the front:

I'm currently coming up with sketches and suggestions for the owners.  Please check in to emichelgardendesign.com in the coming weeks to see the progress of this and other projects!
