weekend miscellany

The thunderclap that announced yesterday evening's downpour blew in the west-facing windows and through our little group, and temporarily scrambled the party, but today there was no hint of thunder or lightning or rain, just gusty winds that required some maneuvering if you or you mother had decided to wear a dress; and so, this evening, R. and I took a walk through Crown Heights to see what spring has wrought.

Two weeks not to be missed: lilacs in bloom.
Indeed.

Scotch broom in Prospect Heights.
Here's a sin: no one told this concrete it was spring.
Yew (in churchyard).
The perfect purpley-blue, in case you were wondering.
For a brief moment, I thought I was back in Berlin.
